Common headache becomes Aneurism case

I have treated a nice lady for several years for various conditions. She

comes every once in awhile for neck pain, carpel tunnel syndrome (which I

cured!), and cervicogenic headache.

A recent headache didn't respond very well. It was a combination of vascular

and tension in nature (primarily differentiated by throbbing vs. constant.)

After it didn't resolve satisfactorily for a week, I urged her to get to her

primary care doc for further workup. (Proper care but a stroke panel in

Canada might disagree after the fact.)

Well...she has an aneurism at the 4 way intersection of her basilar artery.

They were going to shove these " coils " into the aneurism via the femoral

catheter which helps plug and scar the bulge without surgery.

This patient got into a heated argument with her step-daughter and ended up

with a throbbing headache, double vision.

Went in for her workup at OHSU and they re-did the CT/MRI and it's been

bleeding. They really don't want to go in as access is very difficult.

Humbling.

Will keep you posted on her outcome.
