Guest guest
Hi, Here is a 50 y/o pilot in good health. Moderately kyphotic, he complains of left parasternal pain at about the 4th rib. Had a stress EKG results negative. Adjusting him until I'm blue in the face and he's blue in the face. Major long term scar tissue in rhomboid area. Rub rub, mash mash, etc. Ribs and t-spine are killer to adjust (even for me and I am, as you know, a master- no brag, just fact...-Walter Brennan, The Real McCoys) He’s not improved much and I told him I’d consult with the sharpest tools in the Oregon Chiropractic shed. Drew some blood and found no elevated enzymes indicating an obvious lytic, or inflammatory process (his doc wouldn't do it so I had to). Elevated cholesterol, etc. Had some films done and look at this T-spine! It almost looks like Sheuermann's Disease. I looked up references to Sheuermann's and found that this site considers any stiff hunchback to be Sheuermann's. http://www.spine-health.com/topics/cd/scheuermanns/scheu01.html I seemed to remember Sheuermann's being the late stages of osteo chondromatosis of the spine. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve & db=PubMed & list_uids=10711513 & dopt=Abstract I am instructing him in rhomboid strengthening, pectoralis stretching, 500 adjustments according to BEESST (Been Everywhere Even Sally’s Spinal Tromporium) technique to restore the curve-o’-life. Appreciate your input. ( E. Abrahamson, D.C.)
