Guest guest
Well, According to the Dr. it is GOOD news!!! He done no extra test's, Saedi was showing the PAC's in his office on the EKG. She is throwing two to three between each regular one. Nothing to worry about he said. A lot of children do this! He also found a small heart murmur!!! As for the pain she experienced It is either muscular or skeletal pain, he thinks, due to growing pains. Otherwise he really doesn't know why, he said. The numbness she is feeling in her extremities he has no idea why, so he said to have her checked out by a Neurologist as soon as possible. I then asked him, when am I supposed to be worried about her heart then??? He said to keep track of it and if she gets into any distress while doing anything stressful, or active then get a hold of him again and he will see her, otherwise he will see her in three months!!! I don't really know what to think of all this. He said I should be jumping up and down for joy!!! I said I am SO GLAD you say she is all right, BUT, I'm the one who seen and heard all this and it was so scary!!! He then said, yes, it would be scary, but he is very confident that she will be all right. Do keep track of anymore symptoms and call him if we think she is getting worse! Also follow up with the neurologist about her arms and legs going numb all the time, as that shouldn't be at all! The only other test he would have run at this time was an echo cardiogram, but he didn't think it warranted that right now... Thank-You to all for helping me get through this. I just have to think all this out now, I feel whipped !!! {{{ God's Blessing to you All }}} Helen
Guest guest
Helen, so glad you came out so well with Saedi. Amber had this trimmer in her arm twice, both times came on sudden, the Nerologists said that it was normal for teenagers, like they are gowing too fast and everything, nerves, tendons, ligaments, cannot keep up and one time, just about six months ago she had stabbing pains in her arm and again the nerologists said it was normal, called it ice pick pains, and no more problems. It is scarey, it scared us, we did not know what was wrong and we wanted answers. I know what you mean about feeling whipped, that is how I felt after the first time we came back fom the Pedi Pulmo visit for April. Try and get some sleep. Guest guest
Fine, except down with flu again, I think. Now having a croaking voice. Will be seeing my pain doc tomorrow following the radiofrequency neurolysis. That did not help a great deal though, the pain seems to be coming back again. Hugs, Ling Re: Saedi Thanks Ling! How are you doing??? {{{ Many Special Hugs }}} Helen Hang on tight Helen! I am sure many good things will be coming your way! Guest guest
You didn't read into it wrong. I'm just not understanding it all I guess. Have to figure out what to do myself. Just seems so wrong after the pediatricians were so overly concerned about what was going on, and he just brushed it off as nothing. And he didn't have anymore information than they did!!! PAC's-Premature Arterial Contractions - is what she is having. Two to three between every regular beat. He doesn't know what is causing the chest pains in the heart area. His guess was growing pains!!! I don't understand why he did not do the ultrasound!!! That would have shown if there really was anything to be worried about. Dr's--Uggggg He said the murmur was a small one, and apparently she has always had it, it has just gone undetected all this time ( So nothing will be done. Saedi doesn't exaggerate pain what so ever, that's why it bothers me so I guess. She's a tough little one. {{{ Special Hugs }}} Helen Hi HonI can relate to this so much. You get good news but you have been there, and lived through it, and you need to trust your instincts on this, as I have found they are so often right when it involves children we are close to. Only you can decide how to take what he told you. I would think that the echo cardiogram might not be a bad idea, under the circumstances, it is best to get all the cards on the table now and set your mind at rest. That is my opinion anyhow. So what happens about the murmur? Isnt he concerned about that?I dont know what PACS are (palpitations??) A lot of children do this???? Do they also get pain with it??? If it was an incidental finding, with no symptoms, then I guess you could ignore the palpitations, however she has been in major pain! I sure dont want to tell you what to do, I dont know enough about it myself. However, as my last message shows, I dont have much faith that Drs take childrens symptoms seriously enough often assuming that they are exaggerating thier symptoms for attention or whatever. I havent ever found that to be the case with my kids. If I felt it was serious, then I have always been right to take it further. Bugger the Dr, trust your gut instinct. If you really feel dissatisfied with what he said then take it further for your own peace of mind - this is your call, honey. Love ya, and I am glad to hear that you didnt get any real bad news, I am just concerned cause you dont seem happy about the conclusions he came to. Forgive me if I have read it wrong.I sure hope that he is right on all counts. Hang in there, process what he said, and work out if you are gonna wait it out, of get them to take it further - but whatever you do, make sure that it is the decision that you feel is right - whether that is what the Dr is recommending or not."more hugs" :-)

Guest guest
Hi Helen yeah they told me that Jais pain was growing pain as well - interpret that for Dr speak " It is a child + it is growing + it is in pain = growing pains! " Brilliant huh? I would be worried about the pac's too, didnt he think that there was any chance that the pain could be coming from that instead of " growing pains " I am sorry to sound pessimistic, I agree with you however, if everyone else was really worried about it, and he just discounts it as nothing, either they knew nothing or he doesnt. It is your call honey. I am thinking of you and know you are doing everything you can to make sure that Saedi gets the best treatment. Whatever you do will be the right decision, you know Saedi, you saw her when it happened, you have been at all appointments, you are the best person to judge. Thinking of you heaps :-) I forgot that you are having holidays there, that sure makes it easier to manage. We have just had 2 weeks holiday here, school goes back tomorrow. We are all sick with a horrible dose of the 'flu, one of those shaky legs, stuffed up, and cant eat things. Jai has to go to the Dr tomorrow I think he has been very congested for 2 days, poor kid, he just got over the viral tonsillitus. At least Saedi is not likely to come down with any nasty bugs being away from school. That is the last thing she needs. I sure am glad that she is feeling OK right now, and is happy and feels like playing. that is all good. Hang in there, and know that we are here for you every step of the way, lotsa hugs as always :-) > You didn't read into it wrong. Guest guest
I know what you are saying! I probaly could have taken any answer, until he said growing pains!!! Remember, Bre has been having Growing Pains now for, four years!!! They finaly gave us some answers for her. I'm just waiting it out righht now, as Saedi seems to be doing pretty good. She is still having times where her heart is beating very irregular and sometimes pounding out of her chest, but I have her lie down and it usually calms down within 10-15 min's. So sorry to hear you have the nasty flu bug there ( When school resumes here the end of August, Saedi and Bre both will be out of school many times with what they catch! They seem to catch everything that goes around ( Take care of you and family ) Love Ya!!!
