Ahhh- the teenage years...

Hi,

Been quiet, been busy. But a lot is going on with . She will be going

to HS in the fall- i cant believe my baby girl is going to HS!!!!! She got

into the HS that I wanted for her and it is a regular HS with 4,000 kids and a

whole spec ed dept with about 500 kids. I'm feeling good about it because

there will be a many kids with special needs and she will also be with typical

kids.

I have decided to go the alternate testing route, which I labored over for

months. But I decided, 'hey who can really do Math A (ninth grade math) anyway-

so why the extra stress???? I'm not sure what type of class she will be in

yet- but this school has many many options and we will begin the transition

soon- with a possible visit to the HS this Thursday with me if I can arrange it.

When I started wrting this email, it was going to be about how amanda wanted

pink hair and i tried to color it and the only thing that turned pink is her

scalp and my hands, but not her hair! She also got her own cell phone last

week- long story there, but she is thrilled and being very responsible so far

about it. Not taking it to school, not calling people before 9 PM and only

using

it on the weekends, or calling only other people that have our carrier.

There's lots more- but thats enuf catching up for now.
