Liam, too, has a wide foot and it seems like only Stride Rite makes wide shoes for kids. Once I saw a pair of New Balance sneakers in Kohl's but they weren't wide enough. Guest guest
This is the first time that I had trouble finding shoes. We've always been able to find wider tennis shoes, but the last time Grandma got a pair (he was wearing a size 2 and I told her to get a 3), he had alot of difficulty walking. We have a shoe store about 30 miles west of here that is known for having weird sizes. I called ahead and they had a size 4 put aside for him. When Tim took him there, the 4 was too small! No wonder he had difficulties walking. I fit in his shoe and he can fit into mine (I also have a wide foot) - so in the future, if I can't find him men's shoes, I'll try womens. This shoe store also put in arch supports (glued in). Poor Grandma always bought the most fashionable tennis shoes (Air Jordan's or whatever they are called) - I don't know the name of the shoes he has now. Guest guest
The last time I bought Trent runners, we went to a different shop - the previous one had always given us good service and attention. The new one, the girls worked extremely hard to get a pair of shoes to fit correctly (and at a reasonable price) - in the end they tried women's fittings for him, which were a good fit and looked good on him. Not like the previous ones, which after a few wears looked sloppy. The new ones which he has had a few months still look like they are fitting well. Obviously something to keep in mind - if the shoe isn't fitting quite right try the other genders fittings. Keep smiling Jan, mother of Trent 20yo w/Ds - from the Land DownUnder - from an area which doesn't seem to know what season it is at present!! Last week cold (10 c) and lots of rain 4 inches overnight, rivers peaking, roads flooded, still being detoured when travelling into Geelong.
