Guest guest
Helen, I am so sorry to hear that Saedi is having to see a specialists, and their plans had to be changed. Sometimes things just seem to be so unfair. I am sending prayers that the cardio will be smart, kind and easy to talk to. You hang in there. Guest guest
Hello Helen I don't think there is a why though I keep finding myself asking that. Since she's young, she has a good chance of a complete recovery. It's not as if her heart has been enlarging itself over years to deal with the demands placed on it and her rate of cell growth will be high. Have they done the echocardiogram yet? How about a chest X-ray? How are her ankles? Are they swelling? Has she been coughing? Does she have problems sleeping or breathing? The St. s Ambulance First Aid course has a section on child CPR, consider taking it. Thank God she has you to look after her. Guest guest
THANKS for the Hugs!!! Saedi was rushed to the hospital almost three weeks ago for her heart. She came out clutching her chest, crying , saying her chest hurt real bad. I told her to go lie down, I'd be in, in a min.. She came back to the kitchen about two min's. later as pale as a ghost, still clutching her chest and cryinh it hurt so bad and her arm was asleep (left arm). I turned off the burners and listened to her heart right away. She had such a bad beat there. It was hard to count as half of them didn't sound like full beats. Called the Dr's office and they said to take her to ER. We live 35-40 min's. from the hospital that we have to go to now, so took her up to rescue to see if it was as bad as I was hearing, and they wouldn't even let us take her to the hospital as they said she was too unstable!!! So she went by Rescue. By the time she got to the hospital, she was doing much better. The jerked of a Dr. seen the EKG that was taken at the hospital, about 15 seconds worth!!! And asked us WHY we brought her in!!! She seemed fine to him! Sent us back home! Her pediatrician was not too happy about it. She ordered a 24 hour halter monitor and that is how we found out what is going on. They said it didn't just show up a little here or there. It was through out the entire tape!!! So now we wait till next Tues. I Pray they can fix whatever is wrong!!! {{{ Many Hugs }}} Helen Oh NO! Helen I am SO sorry. I didnt know they were even testing for this. Let us know as soon as you have seen the cardiologist.I dont know what to say.. all I can do is say I care and I am thinking of you all, I am so sad for you all "HUGE HUGS"love

Guest guest
Oh Helen :-( How awful. So there has been no previous warning with Saedi, it was just out of the blue? Is she still getting pain? I guess you are wanting to wrap her in cotton wool right now. Why is it taking so damn long to see the specialist? Sounds like you need answers now! How do you offer support and hugs and spread your love around here the way you do, when you are dealing with that? You are one wonderful woman! I dont know how you do it. Have you any idea what they can do for her? Guess you will get your questions answered on Tues. How is Saedi though? guess she is real scared too, especially as it hurt so much. " huge hugs for both of you " Love > THANKS for the Hugs!!! > Saedi was rushed to the hospital almost three weeks ago for her heart. > She came out clutching her chest, crying , saying her chest hurt real bad. Guest guest
Thanks , I keep mulling it over in my head as to why all of a sudden!!! but I look back and I think for the last month now it was leading up to this, as I can remember three other times she came to me holding her chest and saying it hurt, but then within a few moments she was out and about playing...She has been getting the Shakes for sometime, but I kept thinking maybe her sugar was too low! Also her arms and her legs keep going to sleep and I didn't know what to think about that. So I guess all the signs were there, but I didn't catch them fast enough ( I feel soooooo terrible about that!!! When she had that big bout that lasted over an hour, then everything all clicked into place like a puzzle ( She has had at least one if not two bad spells a day now since the big one. But they haven't been as severe as that one. I don't know why anything takes so long!!! I'm carring a piece of paper in my purse that tell's the hospital to do an emergency EKG Stat, if we have to go to the ER with her, so we don't have to wait in the waiting room for hours!!!! Trying to keep her from being an active 7 year old is not as easy as it seams!!! When she is feeling bad, she lie's right down and doesn't move... But as soon as she starts to feel better and her heart beat is back to normal she's up and raring to go... If she has the same as I do then there are two options, medication control or surgery!!! She's throwing off PBC's, they said there was something wrong with the electrical functioning in her heart, that's why the regular Dr's. vetoed almost all activities until she is seen by the Cardio Dr. Awwwww Thanks , but it just comes naturally, I just have to remember their are other folks out there a lot worse off then I am. I'm glad if I can get a little smile or bring some sunshine into someone else's life... I know I feel better when someone remembers ME!!!!!! I went through a self pity party for myself about a month ago, I sure could have used the Love and Hugs myself then!!! I just hope I help someone ) And just Maybe they will be there when I need them ) {{{Thoughtful Hugs }}} Helen Oh Helen :-(How awful. Guest guest
Still makes me feel bad I didn't see it coming on. We don't have school here right now, it's summer break time till Aug. The doc said she can go back to being a normal seven year old now and play. I am definately keeping an eye on her. There just seems to be something that isn't right... I have Mitral Valve Prolapse and Four types of arrhythmia's in mine ( They are taking the medication route right now. The one i'm on osn't controling it so the next time I go he wil probaly be changing my med. My family Dr. seen my report from the cardiologist and told me not to let the cardo put me on the next med on the list as it will give me more problems than I already have ( He said to opt for the surgery instead. It's not full proof, but it's a better chance ) Something in my heart about the electrical functioning not working right. I'm glad Jai is doing so much better now. Take Care my Friend. Love Ya!!! Helen I feel soooooo terrible about > that!!! When she had that big bout that lasted over an hour, then everything > all clicked into place like a puzzle ( Oh, dont feel bad, there is no way that you could know. You feeling bad, reminded me of when we were in New Zealand last year with Jai and he got the urinary frequency for the first time. The day I noticed it, we were out shopping and he kept wanting to go to the toilet, and I thought he was just bored and wanting to use every different toilet/soap dispenser for fun! After the fourth time in 1/2 hour, I got annoyed and really told him off. He cried then, but I said there is no way that you really need to go to the toilet that many times (especially as he was only pushing a drop out at a time - at that stage there was no pain so I didnt think UTI, I just thought he was being annoying) Also when he was complaining of his legs hurting, I thought that he just wanted to be carried, as there should have been no way that his legs would hurt after walking for 3 minutes! Now, I feel real bad too, as he was really sick, and time has taught me since then that he is really stoic. When Jai tells me that he is sick he is REALLY sick! (last week he had viral tonsillitus and was very ill, he only said that his throat was a bit sore) When the Dr saw it he couldnt believe how bad it was, ulcers all over his tonsils and throat.Anyhow, when Saedi was complaining of pain, you wouldnt tend to think of heart problems would you? There is no way you could have guessed that. Contrary to what a lot of Drs think, caregivers are far more likely to minimise childrens pain when they first start complaining, than to over exaggerate it! I wish they would take that into account. It so annoys me that the Drs kept telling me that Jai was screaming and thrashing about in stress, when I knew that he was in agony. Especially, as I now know how brave and stoic he is when in pain usually, makes me cringe to think of what he went through last year.(whenever he is sick he minimises it - why do Drs think that kids complain about every little thing, neither of my children did. If my daughter complained of a headache she would most likely be vomiting with a migraine within a few minutes - kids are tougher than Drs give them credit for that is for sure. SO Drs should know that, and act accordingly. So Saedi cant go to school right now I guess. You must be having a hard time keeping her quiet when she would be bored. I would imagine that it would be incredibily hard to keep a seven yr old down for that long. Even more so, I guess cause you wouldnt want to say too much to her and scare her. My hat is off to you!WHat do you mean, if she has the same as you do? I will have to take a look at your profile again, I didnt know you had a heart condition? Sorry I should have known that!Thinking of you :-) "HUG"
