I wrote an email to my representative, Phil Barnhart, whom I'm pretty sure is a friend of the profession, asking him to use any influence he has with any committee members to move the bill along. Is it worth the while of anyone on the list to contact their reps even if they are not on the committee?

H B 2790 Update-4/25/05

We have much at stake and time is short. HB 2790 extends the current Worker’s Compensation time and treatment for chiropractic care from our current 12 visits over 30 days to 24 visits over 90 days. Our bill is in the house committee on Business, Labor and Consumer Affairs. We have been given a hearing which went well. The next step in the life of a bill is to schedule a “work session†and call for a vote.

We are asking you to contact members of the committee and encourage them to ask the chair of the committee Representative Alan Brown to schedule the work session and call for a vote. Ask everyone you know to make these contacts, but it is significantly more powerful if you or your patients live in their district. It is incredibly important if you or your patients know these committee members.
