Guest guest
Serenity I can't speak for all the men, but I personally don't mean any harm, there are many women in the clubs meant only for men and I believe they're accepted. I'm not here to cause problems, it's just that most of the questions I have are answered much quicker here, that's why I read the board. I normally just read and try not to post so that I won't disrupt things, but I had to respond to this thread. Guest guest
I think Serenity raises a very good point. Many of us come here because a club filled with liked minded women has a safer feel to it. I also vote NO men. Maybe an alternative club can be created. Thanks for posting your thoughts Serenity. Like I said, I'll talk to anyone But, like I also said, I'm sure that some women join this list for the safety they perceive with being around other women. So, perhaps the list's name should be changed or something should be changed in the list description so that no one feels misled Serenity (who, personally, could care less who posts here!) Guest guest
I have no problem with you being here either. I'm here to learn and discuss and I've learned a lot from this list. Both men and women have something to contribute. It's a discussion list and I would rather look here to learn someting from whoever <male/female> than look here for the " perception " of safety. I am as safe as I can be in venturing out onto the web and excluding someone based on gender is counterproductive. <going back to lurkdom now> Cheryl > Serenity I can't speak for all the men, but I personally don't mean > any harm, there are many women in the clubs meant only for men and I > believe they're accepted. The internet is Pretty public and you should never assume that the only people who see what you say are those you think are here. The internet doesnt work that way. I have a feeling more of the people who get answers to their questions in here are men than you think. They just dont advertise their gender. I havent been here long enough to know whether or not you've had a problem with men crashing in and being inapprorpiate ,or maybe trying to change the basic concept of the room and discuss specific MEN issues in here.... In that Case, I could understand your sensitivity to this. But if they are out there and reading about our child birth issues and things pertaining to menstrual cycles and anything else we are likely to mention comfortably and they arent scared off.. and even dare to post an innocent question about food or something else because there seem to be quite a few really really smart cookies in here... then I'm all for NOT tying them to the stake. Guest guest
Hi Serenity, although I know you've stated that " you could care less who posts here " , you are the " only " member who has suggested that the name of the club and it's decription be changed solely because of my presence and/or a few male members. I feel that is not only unnecessary, but unfair to make such a request. I feel the need to apologize to you personally if my being here affects you so deeply. I don't plan to be a regular or visible poster, I visit to read the messsages and learn. You can call me a quiet lurker who admires the comments and attentiveness of the members here. A few of the women can also confirm, that when I've had questions in the past I usually contact one of them privately so as not to disrupt the flow of the group. I only felt the need to respond to your original comment on this topic to assure the ladies that most men such as myself, do not have intentions to change the energy here in the club. I was honest about my identity, didn't utilize a phony ID, and have not insulted anyone, nor will I ever insult anyone here. I wish you success with your challenge as you are a member of many other BFL clubs which I belong to. I'm not your enemy, just a fellow BFL participant who seeks answers. p.s. It also takes forever to get answers to questions in the other BFL clubs. > > > Serenity I can't speak for all the men, but I personally don't mean > > any harm, there are many women in the clubs meant only for men and I > > believe they're accepted. BFL101 is a wonderful club, for men and women, and, amazingly enough, it doesn't take forever to get questions answered there So maybe you just haven't found the right group! Guest guest
wow....amazing......this kind of post really does a disservice to a very thoughtful and informative list. Why does having men here warrant such a personal attack such as this? I have no problem with the men being here....as I said in an earlier post--I learn from everyone <men and women> and I am amazed that anyone on this list should be made to feel so unwelcome <with the exception of spammers> Cheryl ----- Original Message ----- From: femininepersuasion Just join another group for gods sake.
