I had looked here earlier, but there are not figures-not even an idea. I

hate to go through all the paperwork and craziness if we weren't even close.

I have been on maternity leave and am considering only going back part time

for now which will lower our income. I figure if we can get it I will be

able to do part time and take Myah to all her appts on my own.

Thanks

SSi ?

Can someone tell me a ballpark for the income guidelines when applying for

SSI for our children? We are a family of 4.

Thanks

Thank you so much. That's exactly what I was looking for. Man it must have

been hard to find. I looked for at least 2 hours!!!

Thanks again!

  • 2 months later...

Nearly everyone is denied when they first apply. Keep re-applying. Go

in in person. Call them everyday. Make yourself known and annoy them.

You'll get his benefits in no time. Enclosing information probably

will not help. They most likely don't read it. Just reapply and don't

stop nagging them about when you'll hear his status.

lol...while nagging them is tempting, i don't recommend doing this. the

disability determinations are not made by the staff in the SSA field

office. the process is contracted out to a disability evaluator. better

to check in by phone directly with the evaluator once a month or so to see

if they have all the information they need to make a decision. decisions

are often delayed because our doctors haven't responded to a medical

information request. if you find this out, you can call your doc to nudge

her/him. i have had much better success working with claims

representatives at SSA through developing respectful relationships and a

teamwork approach. this hasn't seemed to work at the oakland DMV...grin.
