Guest guest
Hey, all of you with girls with " shorter-than-average " arms, who have been hemming or rolling every blasted long sleeved shirt of the season..... guess what I found? Land's Ends overstocks has a selection of 3/4 length sleeved shirts (striped polo, T-shirts, etc) for CHEAP! I bought every shirt in all 's sizes (current and future) that were $5 or less. Figure if she can't wear them, then here little sister can in a year of two. I think I ended up with about 8 or 9 3/4 length shirts, in various sizes. I also found a couple skorts with elastic waists, cropped french terry pants (that will no doubt be full length, but that's OK), and some other stuff. Happy shopping! I have been altering winter clothes all week...... my oldest is wearing a size 14 for length, but has a 12 slim waist (wish I had that problem!), she she gets everything taken in at the waist (or wears belts, if at all possible), is wearing a 7/8 (for waist size), but needs several inches off the length of pants, and shirts. Thankfully, Sammie is true to size....... guess that's what being 50% in ht. and 50% in weight (according to the pediatrician's charts) gets you...... complete freedom in clothing! I always feel bad for when we see those cute jeans with all the stitching and jewels on the bottoms...... Sammie got some for her birthday and they are soooo cute. But, never buy them for because I'd just have to cut the cute off. So, I bought some tiny rose patches at Walmart and sewed them on to her freshly shortened jeans and then used my daughter's " Be-Dazzler " to put some pink sparkley rhinestones around the roses..... they turned out so cute, and it was really easy. I don't think I have the patience for all her pants, but at least she'll have one pair of " in " jeans. Well, back to the sewing machine.... I just want to get finished so I can clean it off my dining room table! , mom to (9), (6 DS), and (5)
