Guest guest
Hi all. As I write this, I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. This has just been the worst month. A couple on my mito list, we just found out, chose to end their own lives together just a few days ago. The poor dear woman was suffering so with her mito, and her husband was suffering from Alzheimer's. They chose to end life together, just as they had lived. It is just so sad that they felt forced to make this decision, or live their lives apart in separate care facilities. And now, I've just found out that a little boy whose family I was very close to when Matty was in the hospital so much has just relapsed (he has cancer--rhabdomyosarcoma). This poor wonderful little boy is just 4 years old, and has had cancer since he was 18 months old. This is his 3rd relapse--the doctors have basically said there is no hope. They can prolong his life, but they cannot save him. Poor little man has already suffered through so much...just a few months ago, he had to have his entire rectum removed due to the cancer. After that, he was in remission again. But not now. Oh no, that would be too damn easy, wouldn't it?? To let this beautiful little boy go on with his life? I'm sorry, I guess I'm just a bit upset right now. I've seen so many children die, including my own. Familiar refrain, isn't it?? It's just not fair. So many people live their lives just to hurt others, to cause others pain and suffering. But these innocent little lives are just being snuffed out one by one, and I just don't know how much more I can take. This little boy, oh god, he's such a beautiful child, would wear his little superman pj's at the hospital...red cape and all! And then he would get on his IV pole and have someone push him around...so he could fly like superman does. I'm just so heartbroken. Anyway, thanks for listening. *hugs*
