I was just so happy to find this website, to put a name to this awful condition and know I'm not going crazy! My doctor has not even heard of rls. I have also tried calcium tablets and tonic water with quinine - both seem to help slightly. Has anyone heard of a medication called Neurontin to treat rls? Does it help? She had a lot of pain immediately after the operation until approximately 4 weeks afterwards. She kept up with the exercise and physical therapy and has no pain today. She can bend the knee, stand on it, walk and climb steps with ease and no pain. With each day, her memory of the pain decreases. She's already thinking about having the other knee replaced. Recently I had a bone scan and the doctor said I had very low bone density for someone my age and I was well on my way to a serious problem. He put me on Fasomax and increased calcium with vitamin D. I'm wondering if anyone knows about the affects of Fasomax when pre-menopausal? Or what I can do at my age? At age 46 I had a stroke that left me paralyzed on my right side. It took me 2 years to feel good again. My doctor put me on an anti-anxiety drug and it helped tremendously. Just don't give up, there is life after stroke, just hang in there. Feel free to e-mail me if you want. God Bless! It has been over a year that it first started. After going to several doctors and all giving her a diagnosis of tendonitis, and treated for that, cast, cold and hot packs the condition got worse. Then she went to a pain specialist and he told her she had RSD. Since then she has had several bier blocks in foot with no ease of pain and several sympathetic blocks in spine again with no results to ease the pain. If fact, the pain is now moving up her leg. This is such a terrible thing to see her in this much pain and all the pain medications do not help. The doctor at the pain clinic says it is getting better because her foot is not as cold and color is getting better. But try telling my daughter, the one with the pain, that. We are at a loss for a treatment that will give her some results.Any idea please let us know. There is virtually no part of my body that has been taken over with pain. I have very bad spinal stabbings in my spine, which has been occuring for about 3 years now. I have pain everywhere, near my jaw, wrists, fingers, ankle, legs, buttocks. I'm going to a neurologist next week. My pain used to be sparadic off and on over a decade now, but for the last few weeks, I've been in pain every day without let up. Does this sound anything familiar? She is on Ritalin and an antidepressant, Imipramine. It seems to be helping. She cannot go without her Ritalin or Imipramine. You must give them the full dose every day. Please get counseling and learn to deal with their behavior in a way that they will respond to. Not the normal way you might treat a child, but what works for them. It takes time and creativity. I had 1 botox treatment and am going for my second tomorrow. The first one was unsuccessful because I just found out that the neurologist who injected me the first time injected me wrong. An MRI revealed a torn medial meniscus and I have treated it with acupuncture which relieved swelling and pain for several months. Now I am in pain again and the swelling is much worse. I am considering surgery to repair the tear. How is your knee? How have you been treating it? He was a healthy normal child until he had his dpt shot and at about 15 months took a complete turn around. He is mute and functions at a medium level, at present he is taking Super NuThera and DMG which have both helped tremendously. I firmly believe that these vaccines they are giving these babies are too much for their delicate immune systems, they have too many shots in a too short period of time. This condition is epidemic and parents should take a long hard look before letting their child have these shots. It appears that the MMR is especially questionable. The doctor hoped the right side of his brain would compensate for this, but they noticed a soft spot on his head recently and the doctor said his brain was dissolving and that he only had 10% of his right side left. According to the MRI test, I have two herniated disks. Apparently, I injured myself during exercise last year. I still exercise but not as much as I used to.
