Guest guest
You have every right to be pissed. What are they trying to do to you and Gracie. I never heard of such going on. Does your state have the educational law about it is the school's duty to provide teaching for every child's need? I will be rembering you and your children always. Guest guest
, Oh sweetie, what can I say? I'm so sorry you had a crappy day, but especially having to starve your poor daughter....once again, I would have come unglued, and you showed incredible restraint! Better luck with tomorrow, huh?? OH man, am I pissed!! Grrr Grrr Grrr.... Went up to the children's hospital (over an hour away) for Gracie's MRI today. Had to get the kids up at 5:30 am and leave the house by 6:30. Dropped Adri off at the babysitter, then drove all the damn way to the hospital. Registered in, and then sat there for an hour and 40 minutes only to be told that they were NOT doing the MRI today. Seems that they were worried about sedating Gracie because she is being tested for sleep apnea a month from now. Ok, so the logic of that, I can understand. What I can't understand is WHY no one caught this little snag before hand. The order for the MRI had to go through 2 different departments, which means 2 sets of schedulers, 2 sets of doctors, but yet NO ONE caught it until we were already there and had been waiting for almost 2 hours. :-( And then to make it worse, no one wanted to accept responsibility for it, no one even bothered to apologize or anything. In fact, one of the nurses got rather nasty with me, to the point that I went and made a report to the patient representative. I just don't understand why a hospital of the caliber that this one supposedly is has such poor communication between the departments. MRI says it's developmental's fault...they should have known not to schedule it. Developmental says it's MRI's fault, that they have no way of knowing what MRI's policies are. In fact, the MRI nurse told me it was MY fault for not telling them sooner. As if I should know that having a sleep study a month from now would interfere with having an MRI today. :-( So I wasted a whole day for nothing. I woke my kids up at a horribly early hour, I looked my 3 year old daughter in her face innumerable times and had to tell her that not only could she not eat breakfast, but that she couldn't even have a tiny sip of something to drink, I drove for almost 3 hours and made a 110 mile round trip. And for what?? Grrr. *hugs* to you all. Hope your day has been better than mine! 1 ~~~~ *** ~~~ *** ~~~ *** ~~~~ The Being Sick Community Visual problems with colors? Guest guest
It seems that fewer and fewer people will take responsiblity for their mistakes. AND fewer and fewer people will apologize. It is tiresome. " Dear , I wouldn't have taken prisoners; the line of bodies would have stretched all the way to MRI from the street just from me demanding a better explanation than that, I would have been so livid!!! I can still see my ex-wife's face cringing at the sight of me starting to boil over much less than what they did to you and your poor child (my ex- would have been backing up as fast as her little scooter could carry her LOL.). I would not have been satisfied until SOMEONE APOLOGIZED and admitted fault. I'm serious, no one gets away from me without a better explanation than that and an admission of guilt. Not that I'm so special; but I wouldn't be able to control my temper and I would have INSISTED on someone taking the blame and any nurse trying to blame me for it would be wishing the thought never had occurred to her to do that. They would have called security, I know, but they wouldn't get off so easy. It would not have been over by then. You have every right to be upset with them and I would encourage you to make some calls; to your child's doctors at the very least--or hospital administration--until someone, anyone, takes the blame and calls YOU to do so. I can't even IMAGINE the nurse trying to lay the blame on you; THEY are the health care professionals while you are the MOTHER. YOU did everything YOU were supposed to do; I'll bet you were even early for the appointment. My wife is the head of the Medical Records Coding Dept. at the largest hospital in the Charlotte region. I have a good idea of the amount of money that is generated by the kinds of services your child is getting. It's not chicken feed, that's for sure. They OWE you much more than you got for your trouble. Best of luck to you and your little Gracie. I'm truly sorry all this happened to you. Hugs, lyn fbertaud@... Guest guest
....I am so sorry to hear about this...That just goes to show you how inconsiderate professionals (if that's what you want to call them) can be....I have dealt with assholes like that a lot.....especially my pcp. The other day I went to her as my left ear has been bleeding & I have been extremely dizzy lately. I thought I had a terrible ear infection or something. She put that thingy in my ear & turned it every which way....needless to say I was in pure pain....I told her that whatever she was pushing on was very painful....She said no infection...The problem must be in the canal.... & left the office. What a B**CH!!! Sorry...my 1st vent here on the list...You have enough problems....How is little Gracie? Tell her hello from me please. Please take care & know that you are in my thoughts & prayers. Hang in there! Hopefully things will get better soon! Love, barb OH man, am I pissed!! Grrr Grrr Grrr.... Went up to the children's hospital (over an hour away) for Gracie's MRI today.
