That's a new one on me. I haven't heard anything about it nor have I

bought any

to even notice. By the way, what would 9/11 have to do with it?

Vodka question

Has anyone else heard that certain Vodkas were pulled off the shelf

after Sept 11 in NY? I went to buy some today for the first time and

the

highest I could find was 50% and that was only offered in one brand.

Everything else was 40%. I asked the clerk who seemed to know even less

than I about alcohol and she said that higher percents weren't allowed

to be

sold anymore in NY. I knew all along that in NY we couldn't buy 100%

but

has 50% always been the highest? I'm clueless because I stopped

drinking

right after I got out of college. :)

,

All the clerk said was that alcohol could be used in explosions. If

that is the case, it doesn't make much sense that I'm still seeing 70%

denatured alcohol. It's possible she was just feeding me a line which is

why I asked on the list. I bought the vodka to make some body sprays for

personal use.

I missed the start of this.

Was someone looking to buy the pure grain alcohol aka Everclear? There is a

company in CT. that has it denatured as such for bath and body products and is

legal to buy up to 5lbs per year without a permit. If so I'll have to check my

records, but now it's bedtime. Way late!

I think pretty much anything with alcohol can be flammable, so that's kind of

silly.

Dee,

No kidding! lol Even though gasoline is outrageous right now it's

still a cheaper than alcohol, very flammable and easily accessible! It

really didn't seem to make sense at the time and really doesn't now.
