Guest guest
Hey Docs, I'm just curious. How many of you have been contacted over the last year to be a part of the National Republican Medical Advisory Committee. As I understand, it appear to be a fundraising scam by the Republican Party. They ask you to join as an Honorary Chairman and donate money to the republican party. In turn they use your name in advertising. I had a call from a DC in New Jersey today asking the same question. I have been contacted three times this year. This is what we have found about it off the net. If I am wrong, please offer any guidance. Guest guest
Ted: I got what may have been the same group. I got a recorded message asking me to call a number to be on a medical advisory board. When I called, I got a recording of a rep. The guy launched into a malpractice/tort reform diatribe, so I hung up. We never got to the money or sponsoring part. But I have no doubt they are Republicans pushing their agenda, sneakily. They never called again. Ann Goldeen, Astoria NRMAC Hey Docs,I'm just curious. Guest guest
Ted I get these all the time. Adter actually talking to the first couple I figured what they were up to. Now when they call my receptionist lets them finsish their speel; and then just asks them point blank " how much does the doctor have to pay for this honor " . It kind of shuts them up. I anticipate this will slow down now that election is over > > Hey Docs, > I'm just curious. Guest guest
Ted, I blew it with managed care; paused to try to evaluate every contract for its merits; suddenly some of them were closed to new " providers " (a term introduced by managed care), because smarter people signed up for all of them. Now I sign up for everything ever offered. Because I didn't hesitate, I got a great Ronco Sliceall Knife-O-Rama which can slice through a frozen hockey puck (which in turn can be cooked to perfection in my new Foremen Grill) and because I followed the suggestion to " CALL NOW! " I was able to be one of the FIRST CALLERS who received a free Scratchula (combination spatuala and shower brush) that has an a.m./f.m. radio in the handle. Therefore, I recommend you sign up for every offer to be the first one in your area to be included in Who's Who in Chiropractic, etc. All kidding aside, it seems there is no end to people who want to include us in organizations which exist solely to collect dues, publish a roster, and send out renewal notices which well intentioned office managers pay because it's only $20-30-40 annually. Oh! To be Costco! Abrahamson, D.C. NRMAC > > Hey Docs, > I'm just curious. How many of you have been contacted over the last year > to be a part of the National Republican Medical Advisory Committee.
