Doctors, I recently met a Nikken representative at a tennis tournament. I know zero about this except that she had some interesting things in her shoes that I would like to try. This must be a 'business' opportunity, but I told her that I would pass the following along in case any one was interested. If you print out the 'infran' document you can read it clearly. The events are Nov. 18th and 20th.

I had 2 people go into a room and put the Nikken orthotics on the floor

covered by a towel.

Subjects came out and squeeze a hand dynamometer 3x both hands.

Repeated process several times with plastic orthotics.

Results: Identical strength.

Then I put blindfolds on all of us and repeated.

Results: we couldn't see anything. Just kidding.

The first part was true and the Nikken guy was bummed.

I signed him up for Amway.

I have a much simpler concept of Energy Medicine - It's called a grande

espresso! Seriously, I have a lot of patients who swear by these magnets,

some wear the insoles, some use the large one on their back, some even

have magnet mattress pads and say they sleep much better.I tried the

insole and didn't notice much difference. My experience with cold laser

leads me to believe that subtle energy fields including light and magnets

have a definite role in increasing healing response. Ron JohansenDC,

My 2 cents (Common Sense) worth

There is absolutely no solid scientific evidence for magnets and healing. I did a med-search and the only "study" I found that showed some promise was significantly flawed in methodology and the conclusions made were far reaching at best.

However, there may be the famous "placebo" effect working here, which does have a physiological basis. "As a man (or woman) thinks, etc." If it feels good and makes you happy without hurting any one else, then go for it.

Also, think twice or thrice about these "business" opportunities. If I am ever tempted to join up with a MLM system, I sit down long enough for the feeling to go away and then move on.
