Guest guest
Having watched many of these " breakthrough " chemicals come and go over the years (Vit C, Vit A, Beta Carotene, Isoflavones, Vit E, Estrogen, B12, etc etc), many not only having their 5 mintues of glory pass quickly, but eventually becoming harmful.. I will hold off till the craze passes and recommend anyone who asked me, to do the same. But, thats just my opinion. Jeff
Guest guest
Jeff,I don't understand that reasoning...It seems to be unreasoning skepticism as opposed to a critical analysis of the information presented...What is it about the research itself (or the conclusions drawn from the research) that you find doubtful? Guest guest
My " reasoning " is simple (to me) and of course, was offered only as my opinion and not as a critical analysis of the research.. so, in my opinion.. - there is never going to be a medicine or a supplement you can take that will allow you to indulge in the causes of aging, and not suffer the consequences. Even they greatly hailed statins can not offer the protection and advantages that a change in lifestyle can. While you may get " some " protection from " some " of the consequences (which is all the current study on resveratol showed), it will never be able to offer 100% protection. As we have shown in our research, when patients on statins come to the center and change their lifestyle in ADDITION to the statin, they see many more additional improvements. Part of my concern is the thought process that goes along with this kind of reaearch and approach as it detracts from peoples motivation to take steps to live healthy. Why do it if the " pill " is around the corner. - where is the supplement/medicine/pill fro the last 50 years that has lived up to its initial hype? Vit E had loads of " early " research supporting its effectiveness. Yet now it is considered harmful. Same with Vit A, and Beta Carotene, and so on.
