My Dearest Listmates,For those of you who don't know me well. Please indulge me for a minute or two. I have spent a little over the past 3 years getting very politically involved. I canvassed for Obama and had the distinct honor of introducing the then 'Senator from Illinois' to about 90K Portlanders and Oregonians on May 20th 2008 at McCall Waterfront Park. Yes, a Chiropractor introduced the now President of the United States. I am a delegate for the Democratic party at the Multnomah County level and had the opportunity to be voted in as a Delegate at the Congressional and National level in 2008 (yes, I went to Denver for the DNCC). I met many many politicians that I handed my Chiropractic Card to, and I am very well known by all of our House, Senate and of course Congressmen and our 2 National Senators. I Graduated from Emerge Oregon as the only Chiropractor in the nation (so far) to complete this prestigious 'Democratic Women's Training Course to Run for Office.'When I wanted to serve my fellow Chiropractors as a Board Member, I had no difficulty being confirmed by the Oregon Senate. I currently volunteered myself as the OBCE liason to the OCA so that we could actually work together toward a common goal. That being the big tent of Chiropractic. I leave you to define it for yourself because it means different things to different Chiropractors. I tell you all this not to impress you but to impress upon you, that involvement politically is the only way to keep Chiropractic relevant in upcoming legislation, Public interest and most importantly as a part of "health care."I need your help to email solid research supporting Chiropractic Care to your elect-eds with a kind cover letter telling them who you are and how you are a supporter. They really don't know, or they don't know the magnitude of what we can do. (ask Sunny circa this year's Kitz event at Dr. Beeson's house, Sunny you have kohonas-loved it).I have a list of elect-eds that either use Chiropractors or are Chiropractic Friendly. I suggest you add your Chiro-friendly elected to the list, it'll circle round to CHIROPAC. Dr. Cote is correct when he says this shouldn't be a D or R debate, it has to be a Chiro-debate aka CHIROPAC debate. Are you with me?People I know personally who are Chiro-Friendly:Jules -D

I'd love to hear your stories and I want to create a movement that "Guards it well", see you on Facebook or here.Best, Huma Pierce DC

Very nice post Huma.

Thank you for your powerful involvement on our behalf.

I will certainly write to Kurt Schrader. Sometimes our worst enemies can be turned to valued friends.

My Dearest Listmates,

For those of you who don't know me well. I am a delegate for the Democratic party at the Multnomah County level and had the opportunity to be voted in as a Delegate at the Congressional and National level in 2008 (yes, I went to Denver for the DNCC). I tell you all this not to impress you but to impress upon you, that involvement politically is the only way to keep Chiropractic relevant in upcoming legislation, Public interest and most importantly as a part of " health care. "

I need your help to email solid research supporting Chiropractic Care to your elect-eds with a kind cover letter telling them who you are and how you are a supporter.

They really don't know, or they don't know the magnitude of what we can do. (ask Sunny circa this year's Kitz event at Dr. Beeson's house, Sunny you have kohonas-loved it).
