Carotid tests here, probably cost more than that, but the line is long and you probably won't get a prescription, unless you claim some symptom. That I won't do because it goes into my health record.

Besides that you'll become known as a hypochondriac.

I think I would opt for a brain scan first, for dementia or cancer. CT?

The big argument always is the dr can't do anything about it anyway, in a lot of these things.

Hi JW:But don't angiograms look only for plaque? Are they any help alerting us to the potential for **electrical** abnormalities?I am told that a carotid IMT test here costs only $80. (Perhaps double that where you are?) It seems to me that everyone should have one. But haven't had one done myself yet. I will discuss it first with a radiologist I meet socially a couple of times a year ......... and will pass on what he says, whenever that turns out to be.Rodney.
