We are big fans of JumpStart and Reader Rabbit, especially since the

format is similar from Toddler to Preschool to Kindergarten levels (so

once they learn how to get around, they move easily to the next level).

has also been having fun with the Clifford disks. At our

school, the kindergarteners use the Waterford Reading program, and it is

very good..... books, videos, and a computer lab component that goes

along with it. The videos are sent home (in our case, for the year),

they read the books in class, send books home to ready each night, and

go to the computer lab each week. enjoyed doing this last

year with her class, and it was not only fun, but academically

appropriate. I don't know if she did it w/o help, but she sure loved

the computer lab. The info is at

Ask them to get the intellikeys keyboard for him and there are a ton of

programs that go with it that would work out great for him, my son used it a

little in kindergarten and i am looking into getting one for him at home as

well, they are quite expensive but opens up a whole new world of comp[uter

ing for special needs kids. Searchword: intellikeys and go to there website

They use the Waterford Program where I work, it is a great program but I'm not

sure you can just buy the program. I know our school had to by a Dell to go

along with it, actually 5 Dells.

EDMARK!!!

We finally got access to eat - and it has been WONDERFUL

I love the Gus Goes to.....videos. My favorite is Gus Goes to Cyberopolis. It

has a sorting game (recycling). It has a diner that has 5 or 6 languages. You

click on the flag and it changes countries and things in the diner are said in

that language. It also has a window you click on that has pictures of things in

the country of choice. It has a science part that has mini films on sea

creatures and things. It is fun and engaging.
