Hi All,

This thread about weight has me listening. will be 9 on August1 and she

weighs 100 pounds. I will never forget when she was playing at Mcdonalds play

place and some kid complained to his mom. " That FAT girl is too big to be up

there!! " I was a fat kid and it breaks my heart to see be overweight. We

even bring our own food to Mcdonalds!!! The problem is her very low muscle

tone prevents her to run and jump like her peers and then on top of that is the

compromised heart condition which tires her out.Yesterday the kids ( goes

to the YMCA summer day camp) went to Marine World. I got a phone classroom her

aide asking if she could rent a wheelchair for because she couldn't

keep up.I am in the process of getting a hand cycle for through the

Regional Center. They said they will purchase it but with price of a lot of red

tape

and paper work.It wont get here by her birthday but we will get it. has

very weak leg muscles and does great on a hand cycle. Buying clothes is herd

because of the down syndrome body type. I buy capri pants which are full length

pants on and 3/4 inch sleeved tops which are long sleeve on . THank

God I thought to save all s clothes for as hard as they are to

find.We should start a clothing exchange amongst us!!!!! It is good to find

support amounts others who have weight problems with their kids. . Mom to

and in California
