a very interesting meeting

Hello OR DCs,

I went to a very interesting meeting last night that I

wanted to let you all know about.

DeSiena passed on a message a few weeks ago about an

informational meeting on the Oregon Pain Society in Portland. The group is a multispecialty

society of pain clinicians. Last night there were MD, DC, LAc, LMT, PhD

attending. Nobody identified their specialty on the name tags (nobody was

“Dr So and So”).

The PSO formed in Eugene

6 years ago and has evidently been flourishing there ever since (any comment

?). Check ‘em out at www.painsociety.com

PSO was instrumental in bringing the issue of pain and pain

treatment in front of the Oregon Leg with a resulting bill that passed a couple

sessions ago. The focus of last night’s gathering was forming a similar

group in the PDX area. Stay tuned. It looks like a great opportunity

for interprofessional dialog on a very critical topic.
