Guest guest
Fair enough, Will, I tried to present a thoughtful argument with references to articles found right here on the internet. I worked hard to support my contentions about: Saddam's danger outside of 9/11, parallels to early reticence to enter into World War II, the big lies of the Vietnam war, etc. So being the party which wants a regime change in Washington and purports to be the party of dialog the best argument you can field is: > " ...I guess I just assumed that any doc who has spent his/ber life sifting > through insane masses of data...would be clever enough to see through the > propagands machine of the Bush regime. > Ultimately, I support Kerry because I thing he is a better man than Bush and > will lead this country to greater security and prosperity... " Is this the " higher standard " of dialog to which we are being held?f I admire your passion but could we move to a discussion of the actual points of disagreement. I am sifting through your response but I may be too single minded to find any. For instance, a point of question might be derived as Bob Woodward wrote in his book about Bush's war in Iraq, " Plan of Attack " : He states that Kerry disagrees with Bush's decision making regarding Iraq, on every point. He then asked Kerry to answer 22 specific questions previously put to Bush which were " decision points " . He gave Senator Kerry the option of reading the questions in advance (open book test!). Kerry's campaign initially said yes, then said no. (This really makes me mad then glad then sad again.) What WOULD Senator Kerry do about Iraq (outside of turning back the clock and not invading even though he voted for giving the president authorization but later said that he didn't think the vote meant that the president would ACTUALLY USE IT). I KNOW you don't know the senator's answer because the man will not give it. Bush may be an incomprehensible pronouncer but you know where he stands on terrorism: " Dear allies, " I have a country to protect from terrorists. Get on board and help us kill these guys or get out of the way. " Let's see Francois, did he mean " kill " in the allegorical sense or simply the rhetorical vein?
