Guest guest
Trent, had his tonsils and adnoids out when he was about 7 years old, he stayed overnight - at my request which the surgeon was happy about. Hospital staff, were ready to let him leave, as apparently it is normally a day stay op. When he was back from theatre and I could see he was okay, I didn't stay - one reason so I could have a bit of rest, more importantly though so the nursing staff would look after, rather than leave everything up to me. I may miss something that they would notice quicker. Hospitals over here, often rely on parents doing a lot of the nursing to take the pressure of their staff. (Gather it would be the same in the US). The next morning when I came to get him, he had had toast for breakfast! Entirely different to when I had mine out as a child, couldn't talk for over a week, and only ate soft foods for ever.
