Hi everyone,

I noticed several of you are talking about your kids being sedated for test or

surgery this summer. I just wanted to share that our dentist suggested the next

time Bridget needs to be sedated that I let her know so she can do a good

cleaning and x-rays. She said it would be easier especially for our children

that have a hard time at the dentist.

Good luck to all the children undergoing sedation.

Hate to be a downer, but anyone who is having a child sedated, for any medical

procedure, please watch what is going on carefully! I learned the hard way! My

son, , was killed by oversedation and failure to monitor. I will not even

allow my older son, Zack, be sedated for a dental exam. I don't mean to scare

anyone, but I swore to that I would share his story, so that no other

parents will have to go though what we are. Naturally, our children have to be

sedated for some procedure, but please keep an eye on what is going on and how

they are being monitored.

Good luck to you all!

,

When was sedated for tubes in his ears we worked it out so the dentist

could also do a thorough cleaning and x-rays.

Fortunately as he has gotten older cleanings are easier but if he needed any

work done I would try to put it off until he needs something else done.
