Guest guest
Hey Guys! I read in a magazine this week that there is a company that has developed a Sleep shirt to test for Apnea and other sleep related problems. It is currently in use at hospitals & with the military. They are hoping to have it available for prescription sometime next year. What I found interesting is the shirt is wired with all the sensors to test the various things that are tested in a sleep study but the patient can be tested in the comfort of their own home. Which I'm afraid is the only way we'd get a true reading on Nick as I envision a nightmare if we would try a convention sleep study on him. Guest guest
Same here,, Nic would never tolerate all the leads on him. He had a traumatic experience when he was 2. Had a 24 hours EEG done where they super-glued the leads to his head, sent us home and had to go back the next day to have them removed, with NAIL POLISH REMOVER!. The nurse was scrubbing his head with it, causing him to bleed! Did you ever get the remover in a small cut? It HURTS! He screamed bloody murder and it took 3 of us to hold him down. Ever since, he can't stand haircuts or EKGs. Di Re: Re: ADHD/Sleep Apnea Hey Guys! Guest guest
The Magazine was Women's World and the company that makes the shirt (which is called LifeShirt) is manufactured by VivoMetrics. It says that it is equipped with enough sensors to track over 40 different vital signs as well as how often you toss & turn! It is currently being used to monitor heart patients, help athletes train for the Olympics and to monitor soldiers in the field. Currently (at least in the US) it is only available in hospitals and the military. Cari
