I don't think that Allstate can be the one who is violating HIPAA, but it seems that HIPAA would prohibit letting them back into your treatment areas.

Wouldn’t HIPPA prevent them from even being in the

waiting room interrog….er, interviewing other patients? They shouldn’t

even be allowed to look at a sign-in sheet or see the names of patients they

have no concern with.

I am definitely not an expert at all, but it seems like Allstate would put the doc in violation of HIPAA, rather than be in violation themselves.

I ain't no expert either, however someone will have to explain how activities of the second party ("Allstate"), beyond the control of the first party ("me") can make "ME" in violation of a federal law....expecially if they are trespassing, etc.....
