Guest guest
I think it's a little naive to believe that CRON will keep us from the ultimate ravages of life -- yes, it will probably give us more good years, but in the end I believe that many of us will fall prey to dementia, osteoporosis, HTN, stroke, diabetes, etc. Obviously, I don't want to be blind, non-ambulatory or afflicted with dementia but I don't think CRON is a bulwark against those possibilities. When we do expire under whatever circumstances -- and believe me, they may not be happy -- we will be grateful for those additional good years we earned through our fastiduousness (I am good with language :-)). And even if they don't we will live better during our allotted time. So there is no Hobsian choice. I think CRON is a win, possibly win bigger, strategy. We know that " Nobody Gets Out of Here Alive. " Now, if CRON could only make us like Oliver Wendell Holmes' One Hoss Shay: http://www.bioethics.gov/transcripts/march03/session2.html
