Guest guest
Hello, everyone! Jeff and I got back from Indiana last night around 9:30 p.m. Needless to say, we are doing a LOT of laundry and a TON of cleaning today! It was a 12-hour drive, and it wasn't too bad. We really had a good holiday and hope that everyone else did, too. Welcome to our new list members! (I'm nne, 27 years old, and I live in Albany.) The night before we left, I had a message on our answering machine from my former boss (I still do freelance editing work for her), and she wanted me to edit a 500-page book. I said that I would GLADLY do it, because that will be GOOD money! :-) So Jeff ran out and bought me a laptop (what I'll earn from doing this book will more than pay for the laptop), and Jeff had been wanting to buy me a laptop for Christmas anyway. So I had my new laptop to keep me from being bored during the drive! It's so awesome!!! I watched a movie on it ( " Moulin Rouge " ), worked, and did some other stuff to keep me busy (mainly playing Hearts and Spider Solitaire, hehe!). Christmas was good ... Jeff's parents were so generous and we received so many neat things (including items for our French cafe-theme kitchen for our new house). It was good to see BOTH of our families ~ we drove down to my parents' house to spend the night with them, too. Problem is, I got really sick on the morning of the 27th and threw up four times all over Jeff and all over my parents' guest bed (my old room). :-( It was awful. But I felt better afterward and actually handled it better than I thought I would (my chief phobia is getting sick). I'm feeling better but still not 100 percent ~ don't know how I made it through the drive, but I did. (I also have period cramps on top of it ~ ugh!!!) I'm trying to take it easy today and not do too much. I think that I just ate too much (too many rich foods!), and it was very emotional being in my grandparents' house for the first time since my grandma passed away. Speaking of that, I missed her SO much at Christmas. This was the first Christmas where I actually didn't care much about receiving presents ~ I just kept thinking how short life really is and how being with loved ones is what really matters the most. I wish that she could come back, but I know that she can't. Several gifts that we received were things that my grandma had bought ahead of time, before she got to feeling bad. I miss her so much. Hope everyone is having a great day today! ~nne in Albany http://lvjensen.blogspot.com/
Guest guest
Thanks, Carol! Yes, I am feeling better ~ but I'm still not 100 percent. I had to sit down and take a break from cleaning ~ it is making me tired. :-( By the way, of course you can join the Valentine's Day swap ... I will put you down on the list. I have to take a look at the message board and see how many people have signed up. I'm closing signups at the end of the day on December 31. Thanks so much for wanting to participate! >>Your new laptop sounds great! I'd love to get one someday. What kind did you get?<< It's a Sony Vaio ... here is a link: http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_Dis playProductInformation-Start;sid=6w6gUZQwtTmgUao_oeiqWts_RAq4tVSmVM8=?Catalo gCategoryID=AtkKC0%2eNYu8AAADyGWo8lSwT & ProductID=B8IKC0%2eN6uAAAADyI4Q8lSwf & Dept=cpu OK, back to cleaning. *sigh* ~nne in Albany
