Any advice on what I can and can't do at amusement parks? I contacted

St. Jude's medical and my ICD staff and got some recommendations, I

just wanted to see if anyone had ventured to that type of place and how

you handled the entrance to the park and any rides. Sounds like I'm

stuck on the log flume, merry-go-round and antique cars! THis is at

Kings Dominion in Virginia specifically! THanks.

I think you should talk to your cardiologist... I do not limit myself.... My cardio said to only go on the rides I feel comfortable with. He is most concerned about the blood pressure these rides cause. I go to Disneyland (several times per year) and I do all the rollercoasters I want. That Tower of Terror -- I leave behind... I don't like heights and that does not sound like fun to me, and if you think of what the blood pressure could do -- forget it!! If you come off a ride dizzy -- maybe that is not the ride for you!.

Now these are only my experiences and what my cardio has said to me. I am a 49 yo mom with cardiomyopathy and I have had an ICD for 8 years - nor problems yet...

I hope this helps you.

Keep us posted.
