Guest guest
Either one can diagnosis ADHD. The first Axis (there are 5) is for mental health diagnosis (clinical syndromes), the second one is personality disorders and developmental disabilities (including MR), the third is physical conditions, the fourth is severity of Psychosocial Stressors and the last one is Global Functioning Assessment. So, Nic and all our children have an axis II and axis III diagnosis. These are used by mental health professionals (comes from the Diagnostic and Statistical of Mental Disorders -- aka DSM-IV-R). Medicaid has to have the diagnosis for reimbursement. Also, the ICD codes should match the Axis codes. Everytime we go to the doctor, an ICD code is used for billing purposes. What kind of wrap around services are you wanting (behavior management?). I don't know how things work in PA, but if you ask for an assessment (funded via medicaid) by a licensed mental health professional, it probably would not be hard to come up with an Axis I diagnosis ( has behavioral disorder, ADHD, ODD and OCD). Here, check this out:http://www.behavenet.com/capsules/disorders/dsm4TRclassification.htm ? about ADHD > We suspect Nic has ADHD. Guest guest
LOL, so it's axis not " access " , thanks. The intake person from Indian Creek is coming tomorrow at 4pm. Then we have to go to their psychologist's office for an appointment. Then after they gather all the info and determine if he qualifies, they send all of the info to all of the agencies in the area who provide wrap around services. If any agency is interested in taking his case, they notify them. Then Indian Creek will give me 3 choices to chose from as to who we want to provide services. Yes, this is for behavior management.
