Guest guest
Food I am bored to death with the whole concept of shopping and cooking and eating. I have eaten badly lately too much sugar lately and I need to get back into a good routine. I wander through the grocery store with brain fog not knowing what to buy or cook any more. I come home with nothing to cook. We eat a good bit of plain chicken husband works for chicken producers. We get good price on chicken we have 15.00 of free chicken coming.I hope husband take time to get it tomarrow. I have only lean hamberger and broccoli in my freezer and very few staples and can goods in my cuboard. No sugar ,no catsup,no peanut butter, no rice or potatoes. I am even out of salt. If some one were to visit and go through my cuboards they would think I can't afford grocery's. I had a friend tell me last week that the month before she had a week were there was hardly any grocery's in her house and she ate peanut butter sandwiches and potatoe soup. I found it interesting that she thought she was really eating on the slim side when she had more grocery's in her house than I have lately. I have had to reduce my starch intake, so my old way of cooking with potatoes and noodles and sauces has changed. No Italian or PA Dutch. And Chocolate is bad for my digest also ;( I am tired of cold lettuce salids its cold out I want hot stuff . I would buy bag lettuce to make it easy but am so tired of it. I can't digest raw veggies except lettuce not iceburg though. Even some cooked veggies like sour kraut is bad news for my digestion. I can't have too much dairy, beans, soy or nut products and some fruits even cause digestion troubles. I eat these bad things and then I suffer with my digestion. I can nibble on very hard sharp cheese and olives at times. I need to eat breakfast so its almost always eggs. Some times I hard boil a mess of eggs for easy eating. We buy the best eggs. I can eat many meats with no problem and a few " cooked " vegetables. I buy the leanest meats. I readded to my diet wheat bread after being on the Atkins diets and losing calcuim in my bones but I am going to cut out butter again starting tomarrow. I have eaten Wanton soup and oranges 3 times this week from restaurant since it tasted good having a head cold. I am gaining weight again because of not being able to ride my bike or walk much untill bone in foot heals up . Its just aches too much if I over do it. Because of blood sugar I need to eat 5 or 6 times a day. I cooked a turkey breast and a steamed a head of caulflour and we ate it several times this weekend. I eat frozen broccoli several times a week. It to tasting nasty. I buy frozen when fresh is more expensive. I am too tired for fancy cooking and am running out of Idea's of things to eat. I have to have low sugar in diet or I feel worse. I have walked through some fancy health food style stores in big citys and would not no were to begin using many of the products on the shelf. I wish I could learn a new way of cooking and eating. I wish I lived near a KW or Pickadilly's cafeteria. What are you all eating and cooking that is healthy? My wonderful husband loves cereal he can eat it form breakfast and supper. I wish it was some thing I can eat. I don't even care for it unless straight from the box and even wheat flakes are loaded with sugar, cheereo's just don't taste yummie. Oatmeal is out of question for more than a day or so It causes digestion problem also. What to eat hungry in land of tators and pinto beans, fat back and corn bread.
