They also figured out what components of food most

attracts us to it (fat, sugar, salt) and make sure

this easily accessable inexpensive food is loaded with

those three components, or all three, making resisting

these " treats " almost impossible for many.

And it isnt by accident.

The tobbacco companies who were masters at figuring

out how to make cigarettes more addictive and how the

human brain works, got a bad image in the public eye

back in the mid 80s, and which point, they realized

there was another highly consumeable product that ALL

people must consume regularly and every day, and this

was food. And so, the major tobacco companies

proceeded to buy up all the major food companies over

the next few years and went to work on making food

more " appealing " to us. And worked with leadinh

behavioural psychologists on how to best " promote "

this to us (so we are aware of their wonderful

products). In thier own words, so " we can enjoy the

pleasure of eating more " .

Yes, this makes it extrememely difficult for many to

not overeat. For some, almost impossible.. And for

most, to have no clue how much they are actually

consuming.

Nor does it make those who cant control their eating..

" bad " people. But, the industry has also worked hard

to see that they are not held accountable in anyway,

and to seem like nothing more than innocent

bystanders. Their battle cry in the war on obesity

is.. " if we would just encourage people to exercise

more, than... "
