Guest guest
I agree totally with what has said here. I gave up smoking last August after smoking for 22 years! You really have to want to give up, that's the key. For me it was a financial decision. I simply could not afford them anymore and now I don't see how I ever afforded them. If you're serious about wanting to quit there are many groups and products out there to help you. I found the patches really helpful but my biggest problem was what to do with my hands. It's not the addiction to cigarettes that's the worst thing to get over it's the other habits and how to break them. You'll do it if you're ready and really want to and we're all here to support you if thats what you want to do! Love anneI believe that friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly. Terri, If I could just say something that would work, and it would work, I'd say it......but it's more of a thing of really finding your own reasons to not smoke. I know seeing people who suffer from lung, mouth and throat cancer, is quite a deterrent for me. Plus, smoking dulls the senses, especially taste. I smoked when I was a young boy, and quit for about 5 years, then I started with a pipe and cigars for about 10 years, and quit those about 14 years ago. You can do it to.......you just have to convince yourself that not smoking is what you want.
Guest guest
Nightmares are a common side effect of these patches. The easiest way to stop the nightmares (besides not sleeping ;-0) is to either cut the patch down (in half or quarter) or to remove it all together when you go to bed. anne I believe that friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly. anne wrote: I found the patches really helpful but my biggest problem was what to do with my hands. I tried the patches. The problem I had is that due to the meningitis and what is considered a brain injury, they gave me HORRIBLE nightmares. I mean, big time nightmares. Scared the holy crap out of me. Finally dr. said to go off them. Both times i have tried it has been shortly after a meningitis episode so maybe they won't affect me so much now. Right after an episode my brain is scrambled for awhile...well, ok..my brain is ALWAYS scrambled..but even more so then!

Guest guest
My ex quit by going to a (legitimate) hypnotist and he had him decide a new hobby, using his hands. He started making guns from scratch (gunsmithing). It's hard to quit a habit, with nothing to replace it with. Lee anne King <kanga2@...> wrote: I agree totally with what has said here. Guest guest
anne, I already do the first part of that, the no sleeping part. I usually average about 4-5 hours a night. Have been doing better lately as hubby has been getting the little one ready for school and letting me sleep in. He knows that by the time he gets up, I've just really gotten to sleep! I may check out the patches again and try it that way. I know that as soon as I took them off, the nightmares quit. I never realized I had such a vivid and scary imagination there for awhile though. Thanks for the advice. ===== searching for Deborah dob 1/14/57 in nna, Fl Relinquished in Chicago, 1961 brother and 5 other siblings searching Half-sib found 1-16-00! __________________________________________________
