Guest guest
What did I do wrong? I posted 2 new pictures of Abbie but they aren't showing in the Photos album. Not sure if I did something wrong (or didn't do something right) or if maybe it just takes a while. If the pictures aren't on by tomorrow I'll try again. It's too late now and I'm too tired. Loooooong day..... People frightened by the news media are afraid they have 2 alternatives: get their kid a flu shot or lose their kid. We have about 4 flu shots left in our office. Thank goodness now Saddam Hussein has been captured.... the news people have something to harp on besides the flu. I think mass panic has been created mostly because there wasn't anything else happening that qualified as Big News, so the flu got all the bright lights. Our local hospital has diagnosed a whopping 8 cases. Big whoop. And all of those were plain old Influenza A, not even that obscure new strain that's supposed to be out there that's not contained in the vaccine. The next county to ours has diagnosed 65 cases (again, big whoop) and all but one of those were plain old Influenza A, the other one plain old Influenza B. No Fuji flu or whatever far-flung flu that renegade strain is. Just the usual. However..... Even though the doctor I work for is not Abbie's doctor, I'm saving a flu dose for her. Kids under 4 are supposed to get 2 doses if it's available (if not, don't worry much about it.) I'm thinking, a child under 2 with Down Syndrome (smaller respiratory-tract passages and susceptible to bronchitis, ear infection, pneumonia that non-DS kids) who has had open-heart surgery within the last 6 months???? By God, I'm saving her a dose. Even if she is my grandkid. I would even if she weren't my gandkid.
