Yup, I have the Xyron 900. I haven't done too much with it yet, but I have

changed cartridges from the laminating cartridge to the sticker/laminator

cartridge and I can tell you it's very simple. I can't compare it to an other

model

since it's the first Xyron I've owned. But the cartridges just slide in and

out

and you really can't goof up. How much were they charging at 's for

the 900? I don't recall off hand what I paid for mine online without going thru

my receipts. But the s/h was only $5.00 so I bet it would be cheaper to buy

it online.

xyron 900

I've got the 850, but I looked at the 900 today at s. It's

much smaller and looks alot easier to change cartridges! I hate

doing that! I haven't tried to do it since the gathering though

when Shaye showed me her trick.

Just wondering if anyone besides has one and can give their

opinions on it. -what do you think of it?

A few places have them on sale right now, along with the cartridges.

Just trying to get some ideas. Thanks!

's had it for $119, which is more than

xyron.com ($99). A couple of online places had it for

$72.99 with free shipping. The cartridges are about

$10 cheaper, but they are also about 10 feet shorter.

But I love the idea of dropping in the cartridge with

no fuss! I loose a lot of inches trying to straighten

a cartridge out when I change them. But like I said

before, I haven't tried Shaye's advice yet.

Also like the 9 inch deal cause I sometimes like to

overlap the laminating cartridge a bit on the paper

when I'm doing projects for the kids.

I'll have to do some thinking on this one!

Thanks !

It's too bad the craft stores don't have demos set up with the different

machines so you can try them out and see the difference in each one.

Here's a question for all of you. Have any of you tried the " soap transfers "

being offered by some sites? I came across a different website somebody on

another list was talking about. I'm going to be placing an order with her for

some things soon (they're closed for vacation right now) and she has these

rub-on transfers for soap. I emailed a request to her last week to see the

different ones she offers. She sent some pics to me the other day. If anybody

would like to see some, let me know and I'll forward the emails. She has some

other nice things on her site, too and at very reasonable prices in my opinion.

There is a local place here that will take my logo and make transfers out of

it. I might do that one day, my friend works there. Pretty cool idea

Yeah, it sure would help. Be better than standing

there opening the box to see inside & then they think

you're trying to steal something! 's here is

only carrying the 900 and one of the 500 series now.

They only had a couple cartridges for the 850 and

nothing for the 1200. Kind of makes you wonder!

I'm going to check out A.C. this weekend & see

what they have.

I should have mentioned that in my previous posts when

I was asking questions. Sorry! That's one of the

places, the other that was cheap was

www.stickerman.com (I think).

I called A.C. yesterday-They have it for $99 and

they take 's 40% off coupon. There's an even

better deal! Now hopefully they will have one left in

stock by the time I get there tomorrow! I want to get

one and try it out, just to see the difference.

Will post results if I am able to get one tomorrow!

Oh ok Colleen I stand corrected. I guess you got lucky. We dont have AC

moore here and I apparently live too far away from s to get flyers or

coupons sent to my home, althought its only half hour away. So Thanks for

the info! good luck on gettingone! Maybe they'll issue rain checks if they

are out.

Well I did it, I bought a 900. Let me just say this,

I am sooooo glad I did! The thing is awesome! It's

smaller than the 850. The cartridges do literally

" drop " right in. There's no more fiddling around with

the end to stick it thru the slot evenly. It just

" falls " into place. The cutter is removeable. You

can use it like a regular paper trimmer. The input

shelf folds in, so no more fighting with that to get

it back on right after changing a cartridge.

Now that I've ranted about the 900, anyone want to buy

my 850? LOL! I'm going to get rid of it soon.

That's great. I thought that you would like it, but like I said before I never

had any other model than the 900 I bought. So I couldn't compare it to

anything. But it was so easy for me to learn to use right away that I was

pretty sure it HAD to better than the other models when you were talking

about the problem with the cartridges. I love how they just pop right in

and you're set to go. Have fun with it.

Thanks ! The 850 is a great model, don't get me

wrong. It gets the job done. It's just that I have

no patience when it comes to changing the cartridges.

It takes me too long (more than 1/2 a second is too

long for me), and I waste a good 5 or more inches

straightening the cartridge out once it's in there.

But that's just me and my impatience! Shaye has no

problems with her 1200 and it's the same as my 850,

just takes 12 inch paper vs. 8 1/2 inch.
