Jodi,

Paxil was the only med that didn't have a dramatically negative effect with

. Unfortunately he started searching out small objects to eat, non-edibles

so we had to stop it. It was very strange. The behavioral neuro felt that it

was decreasing his ability to control impulsive and OCD behavior.

Great suggestion.

Omacor is another prescription high potency fish oil = EPA/DHA. One study with

substance abusers showed a tremendous reduction in anxiety with high dose fish

oil -- 4000 mg NET EPA and DHA combined per day.

Vitamin D, in high doses - like 5000 IU/day also has data showing reduced

anxiety and an amino acid -- theanine -- was equal to Xanax in reducing anxiety

at doses in the hundreds of milligrams in one study.

I take all of them for reduced stress/anxiety and do notice a difference.

However, what has been so difficult is the effect these meds are having on my

central nervous system. I've experienced constant severe anxiety and depression

which has greatly inhibited my ability to function. I can barely work.

actually feel somewhat better without them. The only thing barely holding me

together is Ativan at a pretty good-sized dose.
