What Santa will bring...

Well, haven't posted in awhile..... we've been doing a huge

remodel/addition, and are frantically trying to get some drywall up

before Christmas (which isn't going to happen). But, after a successful

electrical inspection today, we will be able to put up some insulation

tomorrow, so at least the family room will be warm for Christmas morning

:-) The kids are troopers, and haven't complained about the

temperature. We have actually been camping in our trailer since August,

and it has a great heater (but no room for a Christmas tree).

Anyway, I wasn't sure if really got the Santa thing, and when

we asked her what she wanted Santa to bring for Christmas, she didn't

really answer. Then, Friday, as we are saying goodbye to her teacher,

teacher tells me " told me today Santa is going to bring her a

bike for Christmas " . I look at and ask her about this, and

she tells me with this huge smile on her face " Santa gonna bring me a

brand new bike for Christmas! " So, as I am relating this story to my

mom later in the day, my mom tells me " Oh, she told me that last week

when we were there.... I thought you knew " . Since then, she has told me

about 50 times (with that same beautiful smile...... a mixture of

excitement and anticipation) that " Santa gonna bring me a brand new bike

for Christmas! " So, guess what I've been doing? Finally tonight I

found a 16 " bike with training wheels..... not blue like she asked for,

but considering it's December 22nd, I guess I can't be picky! If I get

a burst of energy, I will try ToysRUs tomorrow, but the thought of going

to Toys R Us one more time gives me a headache :-)

I can't wait to see her face on Christmas morning! As my 3rd grader is

on the edge of believing in Santa, I think that this will be extra

special (plus we are going to do the bootprints from the fireplace.....

the carpet is getting ripped out in a month or two anyway :-) Happy
