They are based in LI, NY so if youre interested, I can give you their number and they may have a web site, or I can probably contact them myself. It was a salute to the Special Olympics. I really liked it. I can't remember the name. You might be able to find it at the Country Music Television website, or she might have her own website.. Mom to , (12, DS) and , (8) South Carolina Music Videos > I " m looking for some help in finding some music videos...the junior high Language Arts teacher and myself are teaming up to do a 6 week unit on disability awareness for the 7th and 8th graders. We are going to do a variety of things and one of the things that I thought would be neat would be to show some music videos that deal with disabilities...I thought they would be a great springboard into discussion. Off the top of my head, I can only think of 3 songs/videos...Garth " Standing Outside the Fire " , Merhcant " Wonder " and Mark Wills " Don't Laugh at Me " . I did just find and purchase the Garth and Merchant videos, but couldn't find a Mark Wills. Any ideas of where I might find that and suggestions for other songs/videos that would fit what I " m looking for...I know there are others, I just can't think of any. Guest guest Posted December 23, 2003 Report Share Posted December 23, 2003 Thanks for all the great leads on music videos and songs--keep 'em coming--I'm making a list and what I don't use this time I may use next. I did look at e-bay first, but didn't find much--maybe I'm not doing something right. I found quite a few music videos--but not what I wanted. The two that I did purchase I got from Amazon. In the past I've done a slide show/Power Point presentation to the typical kids using pictures of my students (those with multiple handicaps) WITH the typical kids who came into our class to work,play, be friends with them. I've also showed this presentation at teacher inservices and board mtgs. I showed the PowerPoint to the music of Angels Among Us (Alabama), Friends are Friends Forever ( W. ) and the theme from Toy Story, You've Got A Friend in Me (Randy Short?). It was always a big hit and left most people in tears. I'll probaby do the same again with this group of kids, but I would also like to find more " real " music videos that portray people with disabilities in them.
