Guest guest
Ken: We can not make the files " searchable " . We have to work with what we get from and they don't provide a way to do that. The file index is a great tool and I'm not sure why you don't think so. We think the files are a great free resource and we who moderate and maintain the files are volunteers. It's beyond my ken (pardon the pun) why one wouldn't avail themselves of the files. " Wading " (your word) through the files probably wouldn't take longer than an hour; much shorter than reading Walford's books (which are a MUST if you want to do and understand CRON correctly). They also happen to be enlightening and interesting and are composed of our " classic " posts. How much of a committment are you making if you won't even read the files? on 2/9/2006 6:51 PM, Ken at kkal54@... wrote: http://209.48.219.53/ <http://209.48.219.53/> Speaking of the files section, if you hadn't given a specific pointer to the specific file that describes the programs being discussed, I doubt that I (or most) would have waded through everything in order to arrive at the correct place. Yes, I had noticed the File Index. I'd still suggest you need to somehow make the files searchable, and therefore more useful.
