I am guessing it is the corn syrup in the creamers.

I made some cocoa this morning and used two bags of celestial

seasonings " Bengal Tiger Chai " as sort of a base. It was so sweet

it almost blew my mind. When I looked at the nutrtion listing it

says zero for cabohydrates. There are dates and carob in this stuff

it seems like htere should be some sugar carbs in it.

At any rate it tasted good and did not crank up my junk food

trigger. It will makea nice treat.

For sweetness in such tea, I'd guess it might contain licorice. Dates would

have sugar, but if it's a small enough amount, they can round it down to

zero. Licorice tea, however, has no calories but gives a very sweet taste.

Cheers,

Hi folks:

And I just noticed very recently that licorice is on a list of things

that cause hypertension. It was in a NIH paper that Maco posted.
