Aisha, My GP is really one of my favorites for the following reasons (in no particular order). 1. She is very quick to find the reasons for a condition, instead of medicating the symptoms. 2. She is willing to listen to what I have to say, and doesn't take offense if I have my own opinions. 3. 95% of the time, I'm seen by the doctor on time, or early. No long waits in the waiting room. 4. She gives you 100% of her time, when you are with her. No distractions, and no rush to get you out the door. 5. She has an extremely friendly staff, who treat you more like a friend, than a patient. .......and to be fair.....the 5 things I didn't like about my least favorite doctor: 1. He was always late, and behind schedule. 2. He was arrogant. He treated patients like he was very much superior to them. 3. He was uncaring. The amount of time you had to suffer, before he would do anything but tell you to " give it some time " , was unreasonable. 4. After reviewing my charts, I saw that he was writing down things like I had no pain or blood in my urine, when in fact, I did, and told him so. 5. (and most importantly) He lies. After getting some second opinions, I was able to determine he was selling a lot of bull shit. E-Mail: mailto:tabco@... Guest guest
Hi Aisha, All of the qualities about my dr are in the following poem: A Wonderful Doctor By: Kristy Sokoloski A wonderful doctor is someone who truly cares about everything that a patient says, Listens with gentleness, Who allows you to cry on their shoulder when times are tough. A wonderful doctor is someone who has a great deal of empathy, Who is willing to receive an occasional hug, Who is willing to stand there and hold your hand just before surgery, Who can teach with a great deal of patience. A wonderful doctor is someone who is happy to share a moment of joy when there’s good news to be shared, Who goes the extra mile to help you find an answer to a problem. A wonderful doctor is someone who is compassionate, Who is gentle and trusthworthy. I hope that you enjoy this. I gave a copy of this to my dr (not sure if I said that to when I let her know how the appt went) and she truly enjoyed it. Guest guest
5 best things about my best doctor: 1) She listened to me 2) She humored me (even when she thought I was being a baby, she went ahead and did what I asked) 3) She (or her nurse) called me to check up on me when they thought there was need. 4) She stayed up-to-date on the latest medical journals (I know this because she occasionally passed some of the journals on to me when they pertained to me) 5) She would actually help me with insurance problems I had Dee >From: " Aisha Elderwyn " <aisha@...> >Reply-egroups ><egroups> >Subject: Good qualites in a Dr & Survey >Date: Sat, 18 Nov 2000 19:13:05 +1100 > >Hi gang, > >Kristy wrote (when she could not sleep...) > > " I had begun to think about the qualities that I thought my wonderful >ob/gyn had. Guest guest
Kristy, Medrol is just another form of steroids, like prednisone. It's used alot in tapering dose packs like for allergic reactions.
Guest guest
, This year is the third time that I've taken the Medrol. It seems as if I end up taking it every 3 to 5 years. The last two times I was taking it for my arthritis and as I say this time it was for the major itching that I ended up having earlier this year. I know that it won't be much longer before I'm feeling much better from these infections but it will be a very slow process as it always does. I sent you well wishes in your other note so I will go ahead and close this one now. Take care, Kristy ===== Kristy http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/Falls/4659/kristyspage.html __________________________________________________
