My gallbladder was removed - the old fashioned way in 1990. My symptoms were severe abdominal pain, and feeling of having to go to the bathroom all the time. My heart disease (cardiomyopathy) wasn't found until 1998. Interesting how mine was the reverse....

Good luck with the gallbladder - the new way should be much easier on the body. I still have the 10 inch scar!

Gall bladder problem?

Dear wife recently has been having chest pains. Last week, she had a episode where it felt like an elephant was setting on her chest, with pain radiating down the arms, and numbness in her hands. We went to an urgent care center which determined her EKG was not normal and had her transferred to the emergency room of our hospital. She spent two nights in the hospital while they did several EKGs, heart ultrasound, lots of blood work and X-rays and could find nothing wrong with her heart. Her cardiologist ordered a ultrasound of her gall bladder, found a stone 11mm in diameter and thinks that may be the problem. She recently underwent a nuclear stress test and did very well on the physical part of the test. She has not heard about the nuclear results yet. If that appears normal, it looks like she is going to have her gall bladder removed.Question, has anyone had a gall bladder attack as described above with symptoms similar to a heart attack?

Women have atypical presentations. That is what makes diagnosis of

heart attacks in women more difficult among doctors who work primarily

with male heart attack patients. Sounds like your wife had a good

urgent care doc. We'll be thinking of her and you.
