I'm new to the Cron lifestyle (twelve weeks) and while I am having

some of the newbie issues (e.g. has winter always been this cold or is

that just the lower metabolism and less body padding?), I am finding

that I am less tired and sluggish and my blood pressure is back to

where it was in my late teens possibly avoiding these bp drugs my

mother has had to take her entire life.

Recently I have been enjoying sprinkling blueberries and other things

with teaspoons of splenda, a new find for me and one which I had

avoided because of the negative effects of the artificial sweetners.

I am wondering what known and anecdotal effects people have had. Is it

safe? How much is too much?

I've used real sucralose (the zero cal sweetener in splenda) for years

with no perceived ill effects. I have recently tried some neotame which

is even sweeter (and cheaper) than sucralose.

I would be careful about some sugar-free or zero Kcal foods as

commercial preparations often include caloric components but game the

labels with serving size, etc.

Spenda contains some caloric extender as pure sucralose is 600x as

sweet as raw sugar so would be difficult to use in raw form. (note:

Neotame is 8000x as sweet as sugar so even harder to work with).
