Guest guest
The Kindle doesn't have a backlight. I tried a Nook, but didn't care for it. Not that it was bad, just a different paradigm. Guest guest
Joyce, I have to agree with you. I thought I was the only one. I love books, I understand the lure of the ebook but I just don't like reading from screens. I am the only person my age that doesn't have one, that I know. I love finding that perfect book at a used bookstore too. Its a great feeling. Glad to know I am not the only one who feels like that. Re: Kindle - Nook I have to say that one of my greatest pleasures in life is holding a "real" book in my hands, feeling the texture of its paper and smelling its wonderful scent. I love seeing Amazon boxes on my doorstep waiting for me to tear them open the second I get the door open. I love used book stores and all the treasures they hold; like finding a Vitamix Manual for $1.00, being able to flip through an entire book to see if it is to my liking and not being disappointed if I don't like it after all, because it only cost a few dollars. I love seeing the delight on my daughter's face because I can afford to buy her more than one book on one of our used book store adventures together. Someone please let me know when you can buy used books for Kindle and I'll probably jump on the bandwagon, too! In the meantime, I am delighted for those of you whose lives have been enriched by electronic books! Joyce > > Couldn't help but chime in when I saw that you were talking about the Kindle > and Nook.
