Hi You All,

Week three with my ICD has passed and no major adverse

physical event. I have noticed an impact on employment situation. I

am a 62 years old and hold a senior Engineer position in Federal Civil

Service. I had considered retiring early next years before the ICD

was installed. Now looks like I going to have to retire to avoid

the boredom around the office. Upper management is clearly avoiding

me. If it was not for the Secretary remarking that I have not used any

leave the last pay period, no one else would know or care if I come into work.

There seem to be two options in this situation: (1) Put

a lot of effort to try to recover my career; or (2) just make the best of the

situation until retirement. Option 2 looks a lot better now as I fill so

much better with a ICD.

I am wondering if anyone else has experienced adverse impact

on their career after the ICD was implanted? What did you do about it?
