Guest guest
Also sugar lowers immunity and is very bad for people with adrenal issues (ask me how I know ;-). Maintaining steady blood sugar level is helpful for people who are suffering from adrenal exhaustion and/or thyroid imbalances. The fiber in fruits (especially when blended) helps to slow the release of sugar into the bloodstream blunting the "sugar high" and "sugar low" that a person would get if they drank the juice without the fiber and again, if blended better than eating the fruit by chewing! One of these days I'd love to do a study measuring the blood sugar responses of people in 3 groups: 1) people drinking apple juice, 2) people eating an apple whole by chewing, and 3 ) an apple pureed in the Vitamix. It is a sincere dream of mine. I've had LOTS of anecdotal reports from audience members who have diabetes and test their blood sugar, just not a "REAL" test... Does anyone on here use/take Maca Root? I think I am going to pick some up today when I go to my herb person.
Guest guest
I am a diabetic and have a vita mix. I love it and use it all the time. I am pretty lucky I like fruits and veggies. And I this is Type 2. I have a very difficult time to control my sugar levels. Ups and downs. I get really hungry and have a hard time filling up even with drinking lots of water. Fiber is supposed to be filling and good for you. But I really am not satisfied after drinking or eating the portions. Is there anything I can drink to fill me up, I mean I love smoothies but most of them have sugar in them. I would love to get someone who knows more than the basics. And I have found out that most smoothies are only good after there made, not to be stored for hours in the refrigerator. Any help from the Vita Mix family would really be beneficial to me. I thank you in advance for any help I can get.
