Guest guest
You can find a lot of info about Juice Plus online at their website www.JuicePlus.com . The children's formulas are nice for finicky eaters whom you wouldn't be able to get fruits and vegies (or enough of them) in any other way. If you check the files, I've posted some info online about Juice Plus and would be happy to help anyone interested in signing up for this WHOLE FOOD CONCENTRATE, offline. Juice Plus now has a variety of formulas available. I personally suggest the adult capsule formula as it avoids the corn syrup factor. I assume the syrup is used as a binder to keep the powdered fruit and vegie juice bound together in chewable form for parents who do not have the time to mess with a powder. I do have a parent who uses the adult capsules for her daughter (offers partial dose obviously) by emptying the capsule contents onto applesauce. The mom is amazed by the stuff because her daughter used to be the first one to get sick and was always the one in the family who got it the worse. Since she has been on the Juice Plus, the only illness she has had was a slightly stuffy nose for about two days. Even through being directly exposed to some REALLY NASTY bugs when helping mom do daycare. Really, though, you have to decide what's right for you. Juice Plus really recognizes and promotes the fact that the BEST way is to EAT fresh fruits and vegetables. They offer their product as a runner up for those who do not get enough fruits and vegetables in their diet. I'd personally rather get my extra vitamins from a FOOD base before anything else. But the real answer is to EAT RIGHT. Do you and your family members eat everything they should every single day knowing that your food is of highest nutritional quality? If so, then Juice Plus IS NOT FOR YOU. Otherwise, check out the medical research and process in making this stuff and contact me offline if you're interested in finding out more. Guest guest
I am a new Vitamix user, and I've just been introduced to a very intriguing product called Juice Plus. I was hoping for some feedback from others. Have any of you tried using Juice Plus?
Guest guest
It is this really cool nutrition product, and there is an insane amount of research from very reputable sources backing up the benefits of taking this. It is in a simple capsule form...here is the website for you to be able to look up the information so you can see for yourself (www.juiceplus.com). I am getting ready to go back to school for dietetics, so I have been looking into other areas so once I am a RD, I can offer my clients a variety of assistance based on what they are/are not open to, so when Juice Plus was introduced to me, I actually signed up after doing some research to be a distributor. Guest guest
I used it for about 5 months or so, my neighbor for a little longer. Neither of us could tell any difference - except to our bank accounts. (not insanely expensive - just not getting any " bang for the buck " ) My personal opinion (and it is only that!) - you just don't get the same benefit from this (or any other pill, formula, etc) that you do from the same thing. Once I increased my intake of " real " fruits and veggies - that's when I felt the difference. Actually - it was soon after we both stopped the Juice Plus that I got my VitaMix. Good luck to you and your new business! I wish you success in this new year. Kelley From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Cone Sent: Saturday, January 08, 2011 12:52 PM Subject: Re: Juice Plus? Guest guest
I agree with the majority not getting what they need from real food. I also think many people think it is okay to gobble down a super sized burger and fry meal, and think they are overcoming that by taking a pill-something most of society has been conditioned for. Sad, but true. I have a friend who started some health craze diet back in the 80's where she drank "nutritional shakes" 3 times a day. She couldn't fathom why she wasn't losing any weight until I pointed out to her that perhaps washing down a snickers bar with that shake wasn't doing her the most good. Guest guest
Exactly! Thank you. Like I said I really am just looking for the input. My Mom fought terminal lung cancer after exposure to radon in her home...and her care quickly became a full-time job, so my life basically revolved around doing whatever I could to keep her as healthy as possible including getting up in the middle night if I heard her coughing to make her some hot tea because it helped her breath better so she could get the sleep she needed...to being a pain in the ass with her doctors when we were not getting good enough answers...and doing my own research and contacting as many resources as I could out there to help her make the best decisions she could about her health. I learned a lot during that time, and unfortunately I found out what my career should be through her illness. Guest guest
True. I just wish I would have discovered this like 10 years ago so maybe I could have helped her become healthier earlier on, so maybe the radon would not have affected her the way it did. Guest guest
True...and I've been working on some ways to try and get out more information about radon. It turns out the radon gave her lab and her both lung complications that killed them both...but until my Mom got sick, we never heard of radon. My Mom was reasonably healthy before the cancer, and only 56...so when she was diagnosed it just did not make sense from the stereotyping we were both guilty of too...that we started researching and found out about radon. Guest guest
Yes, Joyce. I went back to school about 9 years ago after seeing nutritionist after nutritionist who had no REAL clue about nutrition, lol. I have no desire to " practice " , but basically wanted the credential under my belt for a variety of books and videos I am working on, lol. > > > > From: Cone <nicoleacone@> > > Subject: Juice Plus? > > > > Date: Saturday, January 8, 2011, 1:33 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I am a new Vitamix user, and I've just been introduced to a very intriguing product called Juice Plus. Guest guest
Yeah. With my Mom being so sick, I didn't really concentrate on my own health at all during that time...so since she passed I got myself a vitamix, started doing sprouts, started doing the eat-clean diet concept, switched to organic makeup, switched to organic body care, started making my own cleaning products, and stopped using dryer sheets and using the ball things instead, and I research everything like crazy before it goes in or on my body now, and I'm doing a lot more research about anything that even comes into my home. Cancer is a big thing in my family...everyone on my Mom's side who is 50+ has dealt with cancer in some way...so it is my big thing I am scared of getting. I am working on finding a doctor who is not as focused on medications, because I won't take most of what a doctor would tell me to take, and instead will work with me on the prevention and has a more nutrition/holistic approach...and who will agree to test me 2x a year for cancer so at least if I ever do get it...I will know early and can attack it early without chemo. We tend to be a bit more open minded on this group than others, so I don't see where anyone would take ANY of this thread as starting an argument. I certainly didn't. We may all have different opinions, but that is how we all learn from each other. What a boring bunch we would be if we all thought the same > > > > > > > I'm not looking to start an argument here, but I would expect to feel > > different (better) if I was ingesting a great nutritional base to help > > provide my body with whole food sources that I don't get the full > > recommended amount of daily. Guest guest
I don't think NYS offers certification for nutritionists, at least they didn't used to--only dieticians. Things may have changed though. Guest guest
I haven't check on certification or licensing requirements in years, so I have no idea, really. I only wanted the credential, since I spout off so much about food, I wanted to be able to back it up, lolFrom: <kareningotham@...>Subject: Re: Re: Juice Plus? Guest guest
This is state-by-state stuff--they're all different (including non-existent). I have an old friend who's a clinical psychologist in Detroit and I remember when she told me that Michigan was going to permit licensing of lay psychoanalysts, i.e., non-psychiatrists. And in NYS, ANYONE can hang out a shingle and call themselves a "therapist." Guest guest
That is sad...and just shows how important it is for all of us to do our research before using these resources so we can make sure we are getting the best. Guest guest
Hey, buyer beware. I personally dislike being dictated to by the state and would usually rather see things err on the side of freedom rather than control. However, professions like M.D., tattoo artist/piercer, vet, dentist, and the like are professions that I prefer to see subject to state-licensure and to tell you the truth, I'm even glad you can't work in a salon without a cosmetology license. However, "therapist" is sufficiently vague to warrant a heads-up and those seeking counseling really SHOULD demand to inspect a prospect therapist's credentials. Re: Juice Plus? Yes, Joyce. I went back to school about 9 years ago after seeing nutritionist after nutritionist who had no REAL clue about nutrition, lol. I have no desire to "practice", but basically wanted the credential under my belt for a variety of books and videos I am working on, lol. > > , > > I had no I idea that you're a certified nutritionist! >
Guest guest
I kinda recall that era. I believe there were some deaths involved. Problem was, some were doing ALL shakes for ALL meals for long periods of time. A foolish approach, overload for some nutrients and other nutrients missing. As with any personal experiment, moderation... Chuck I kid you not.... New Wine for Seniors. California vintners in the Napa Valley area, which primarily produce Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio wines, have developed a new hybrid grape that acts as an anti-diuretic. It is expected to reduce the number of trips older people have to make to the bathroom during the night. The new wine will be marketed as PINO MORE I HEARD IT THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE ---------------------------------------------------------------- On 1/8/2011 3:16:57 PM, Berry (berrywell@...) wrote: Sad, but true.
