Hi there;

Yes I have sleep apnea that was dx after my cardiomyopathy was dx'd. They said my sleep apnea was borderline even though I stopped breathing about 60 times in the night. They said that with my heart situation they would treat my sleep apnea so my heart wouldn't have to work so hard. I have been sleeping with a CPAP machine now for almost 5 years and I don't leave home without it! My hubby was very frightened when I would stop breathing so he makes sure I have my CPAP. I have lost several pounds now - enough to degrees my thyroid meds and do away with my type2 diabetes meds. I also had to decrease my heart meds for awhile to adjust my blood pressure - it was 70/50! I am back on the full dose of Coreg which has really boosted my EF to normal.

My 45 year old friend just died two months ago because she was not treated for sleep apnea! Yes, it had to do with her heart! They even medicate my thyroid so my heart doesn't have to work so hard! Seems everything is related.

I know time is a healer of all things. I hope things get better for you and your hubby. It is so heart wrenching for our kids to have to go through this.

Much love and support to you.

He has been diagnosed with sever sleep apnea. During a sleep study, he actually stopped breathing a few times. The DR. thinks this could be putting strain on his heart (makes sense to us). The cardiologist and the EP, both rolled their eyes and said no way. Does anyone else have sleep apnea out there that may contribute to their heart condition.
