Guest guest
Hi , >I'll take your word for it that Cathe Friedrich's " Kickbox " is not as >advanced as her " Cardio Kicks. " That tells me that " Kickbox " is not >the video for me. I'm pretty sure the Kickbox is from her Cross Train Express series, which means the cardio portion is 30 min or less. It really isn't a toughie. >Do you have any idea how the " Cardio Kicks " video breaks down as far >as warmup, activity and stretch/cooldown? That would be helpful. Hmm... it is tough for me to tell you how long everything is - but the breakdown of the workout is a warm-up, then a long-ish segment of kickboxing style aerobics (this is different from Tae Bo, it is really, to me, kickboxing-flavored floor aerobics), following this is a series of " drills " (this is more like Tae Bo and this section is great!! I love it and have added it on to other kickboxing workouts to make them longer - i've used weighted gloves here, too on occasion). This " drills " section is shorter than the previous section, I think it is a total of 10 kicking and punching combos. Following this is a cool-down. No ab work or other toning. It is a challenging workout. The kickboxing-flavored aerboics does require some space to move around in - so you may have to re-arrange your furniture a bit! > >I know this is kind of subjective, but one way I try to evaluate a >workout is based on how much I sweat. What I need is a workout that >will leave me looking like I just stepped into the shower with my >clothes on. Hmm...it is subjective - but I will say that just about anything produced by Cathe is among the toughest stuff you'll find for a home exerciser. If you're interested in doing step aerobics at all, her Interval Max (IMAX) workouts are really challengin as is her Maximum Intensity Cardio (MIC) workout. I wish there were more highly advanced options out there, but it does seem that the industry caters to the beginner. Hope this helps!!
